The UCCE Placer County Master Gardeners want to help you succeed in your home garden, landscape and orchard!
Their office is located in Auburn, within the DeWitt Center, next to the County Agriculture Department. The office is also known as the "Farm Advisor's" office. Here, the Master Gardener volunteers staff a HOTLINE (530-889-7388) on Tuesday - Thursday from 9am to Noon. You can call them up with your gardening questions or come in and bring a sample for diagnosis. We may not be able to solve your problem on the spot, but we will research it and get back to you in a timely manner.
The Master Gardeners also put on some wonderful garden events, including the 2009 Gardeners Gathering in Loomis on March 7 (visit the main page for registration and more info) and the 2009 Mothers Day Garden Tour.
The volunteers also staff a wide range of community events across the county such as:
Auburn Home Show (Spring and Fall)
Earth Day events
Sierra College Plant Sale
Mandarin Festival
Visit their booth at these events and bring your questions!
And that's not all...the Master Gardeners also engage in compost education and outreach, operate a Speakers Bureau to serve requests from various clubs and groups looking for gardening speakers, give public workshops at various venues like the Placer Nature Center, and you'll see them at the Farmers Market in Auburn as well.
