Overall Goal of FSNEP Youth:

To promote healthy lifestyles for youth and their families as outlined in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This is done by training individuals, who in turn provide children with 4 to 6 hours of nutrition education. Specific objectives include the following:

  • Increase awareness of fruits, vegetables and other high-fiber, low-fat foods.
  • Increase awareness of food safety practices for children who prepare their own meals and snacks.
  • Encourage daily physical activity.
