On-Line Composting Course
Welcome to the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Placer County On-Line Course on Composting. The UCCE is a land-grant university whose mission is to develop, extend, and bring about the use of research-based knowledge to improve specific practices and technologies. This course is funded under the Composting Education Project by the Western Placer Waste Management Authority.

In our on-line classroom, you will become acquainted with the basic principles of composting. The goal of the course is to provide you with information and resources to efficiently manage your organic waste. There is no charge to take the course, but students as well as "browsers" are encouraged to share this information with others.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to residents of Placer County who register for this on-line course and pass the final exam. Have the exam jitters? Not to worry here--just like the process of decomposition, sooner or later you will be on your way to successful on-line composting.

When you're ready to begin, go to the Course Overview to read the requirements, course objectives, course outline, and information on the quizzes and final exam. Placer County residents can register by using the On-Line Composting Course Registration Form. So stay on-line with us and get the compost pile cooking!
